Funding Strategies – Business Funding and Investments
Funding Strategies is a capital markets firm. They provide venture equity capital and finance services to small business and companies seeking capital for growth and expansion with a broad range of services.
Funding Strategies specialise in creating and implementing successful funding and capital raising strategies by linking potential investors with companies seeking such and managing the formalisation of these arrangements.
Funding Strategies has been in business since 2010 and have 10 Brisbane staff.
For years Funding Strategies attempted to use an EDM (electronic digital marketing) product as their proxy CRM combined with a host of large and complex spreadsheets.
With approximately 65,000 potential investors and clients in their database, Funding Strategies had to link clients seeking funding with investors. All of this was being carried out using huge Excel spreadsheets which often meant duplication and resulted in no 360-degree view of Clients, their funding history, or investors. Keeping investors and clients informed about progress and results was extremely time consuming and impossible to do on a weekly basis.
It was established that using such rudimentary systems was holding back growth resulting in a lack of progress for their clients, and their own business.
Zoho’s pricing was reasonable, and still provided the capability to be configured and customised to suit their needs. Funding Strategies considered a number of online CRM’s, but found others were much too expensive while offering similar functionality. They settled on 10 licenses for the Zoho CRM Plus Package – utilising the Zoho CRM, Zoho Campaigns and Zoho Reports applications.
Advanced Zoho Partner IWT Consulting was chosen to complete the Zoho customisation. They demonstrated an excellent understanding of Funding Strategies’ business needs, converting those needs to the required technical solutions.
Implementation and Results
The initial replacement and import to Zoho of the third-party EDM and numerous spreadsheets took about three months. Customisation and implementation for connecting potential investors with clients required another two months.
The resulting improvement in communications with clients and greater efficiency of their staff has provided growth to Funding Strategies that was previously unattainable.
Zoho Reports analytics create dashboards and charts available to staff and clients. They are used in sales presentations to demonstrate a professionalism and point of difference that Funding Strategies can now offer their clients.
Rather than taking significant time in preparing reports, these charts and reports are automatically scheduled to go weekly to clients, so they are always fully informed regarding the progress of their funding.
Not only was IWT Consulting closely involved in these first steps, they will be there to support Funding Strategies with the next step of moving to Zoho One and a more fully integrated web presence as the front-end of client and investor enquiries.
